General Information

Clearwater Elementary School is a student-centered community, servicing children in Kindergarten to Grade 5. At Clearwater, we are dedicated to providing challenging and exciting instruction through our commitment to student learning, which has enabled us to develop a long history of excellence. Our staff is a dedicated group of professionals. We provide a quality education for all children in an environment that is kind, supportive, and welcoming. We believe in individually challenging and supporting each child, and our teachers are committed to student success. We look forward to welcoming new members of our school community.

Academic & Extracurricular Program Offerings

Clearwater Elementary School offers engaging and rigorous academic instruction stemming from the Indiana College and Career Readiness Standards. This academic instruction is enhanced by our special area classes. Each week students attend music, art, physical education, media, and technology classes. After school we offer many programs that further enhance this learning. Our afterschool programs include chess club, board game club, art club, and many more.

What is Clearwater's enrollment policy?
As a traditional public school, all Washington Township schools have an open enrollment policy and proudly provide high-quality education for all students. We welcome students at any time; however, we encourage families to take advantage of natural transition times to make it easier for the student. Registration information can be found on our district website.
What are your standard school day hours?
Hours of academic operation for Washington Township elementary schools are Monday-Friday, 7:50 am-2:35 pm. For families with students of different educational levels, our middle school hours are 9:20 am-4:20 pm, and our high school hours are 8:30 am-3:30 pm.
Does Clearwater offer before and after-school care?
Through a long-standing partnership with At Your School (AYS), before and after-school care is available at all eight elementary schools. Participants experience a balance of academic and social development opportunities each day. Along with AYS, various after-school clubs and activities are offered at different times throughout the school year. These include athletics, music, art, academic teams, STEM clubs, and more!
What is the average number of students in each classroom?
At Clearwater our average class size is 25 students.
What are Clearwater’s school safety policies?
Each school is required by Indiana Code and Indiana Law to prepare building disaster plans, warning systems and evacuation routes of occupancy areas. Evacuation routes are to be posted. The purpose of such plans is to provide for the safety and well-being of all staff and students. In accordance to Indiana Code and Indiana Law there is routine practice of the various drills and procedures throughout the school year. This help to ensure that all faculty, staff, and students know what to do incase of a true emergency. During an emergency, the faculty, staff, student population, and visitors to the school each have responsibilities.
